Who will win? And is winning even possible?
This year, as many seniors gear up with their floaties and goggles, we all wait to see who will come out on top and be the best player. But even though winning comes with bragging rights, an award, and a lot of glory. Winning also means something sort of negative. That being, the winner is kinda sus… if you are consistently getting people out in Water Wars, all that really means is that you’re a good stalker.
But if it doesn’t bother you to infiltrate someone’s life, find out who they are, where they spend their time, and ultimately sneak up on them with some form of projectile water then you could be the champion.
In all, Water Wars is just teaching seniors how to stalk people by tracking their habits, scrolling through their social media accounts, and constantly checking where they are on Snap Maps. So in a digital world, it seems that this game should be easier but year after year no one has been able to come out on top and eliminate every target and truly become the last one standing but there’s always the hope that this year could be the one.
My advice to you, trust no one! Make sure to strap on those goggles and floaties until May 3rd to avoid elimination and after that keep your head on a swivel. Whenever you drive somewhere, look in your rearview mirror and make sure that the car behind you doesn’t have that little red parking permit hanging on its mirror. If it does, you better know how to lose a tail. And finally, when you are walking around town if you see anyone from high school, walk the other way, don’t risk even risk it!
And to all those great stalkers, let’s win this thing and prove to Park City that we are the best graduating class by eliminating everyone and concluding this thing with one true winner. Putting it in the books as a monumental year that’ll be remembered at PCHS for generations to come.
