Are you an avid STEM lover? Do you wish there was a club that rewards people interested in STEM rather than have them do a bunch of requirements just to get recognized? Then NSTEM is the club for you. The National Stem Honors Society is an organization that seeks to inspire and recognize people interested in science, technology, engineering, or math in grades K-12. NSTEM is a wonderful opportunity for you to connect with other people interested in STEM as well as help to grow your interests.
President Hale Nickell says, “My favorite thing about NSTEM is that it brings together all the different STEM communities and people around the school.”
Unlike most other national honor societies, NSTEM is more about rewarding people already interested in STEM rather than having to complete a bunch of requirements. The only requirements you have to do to be inducted into NSTEM and earn a chord at graduation are: currently be in 2 or more STEM classes, and be involved in an after-school STEM activity such as Astronomy, Robotics, TSA, or Aviation.
There are quarterly meetings in Mrs. Waller’s room, Room 243.
If you would like a full breakdown or have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact: Hale Nickell at hnickell24@pcstudents.us or Genevieve Olson at golson24@pcstudents.us.
NSTEM board members say, “If you are involved or run a STEM-related club, please reach out! We’d love to get you and your members connected with the rest of NSTEM.”
Feel free to reach out and let them know your thoughts and opinions. All in all, you should check out NSTEM and be part of an amazing cool club.
