As Halloween has completely wrapped up, costumes are packed away, and holiday candy drives have begun, let’s rewind on the activities of the week.
The beginning of a fun-filled Halloween weekend has set off! Consisting of numerous costume parties, 30-degree weather, with a side heavy snowfall going perfectly along with all of the just slightly skimpy costumes!
Monday was a fantastic way to start the week. The spirit day was Barbie and Ken themed! Shoutout to Cam Lentz for wearing rollerblades TO SCHOOL, how cool is that? Sadly, an unfortunate encounter with admin cost him those rollerblades… what a shame. Luckily the fun had barely started because at 7:00, 150 of you came to the school to participate in the Student Council’s annual ZOMBIE NIGHT!!! A chaotic fun-filled event with lots of screaming, running, occasionally kids jumping off of balconies and Mr. Ed chasing them down all ending with great prizes.
Tuesday, A.K.A., Halloween was stellar!!! I saw some excellent costumes ranging from clowns to fairies, to Men In Black, to cowboys, etc. After school trick-or-treating commenced, streets all over town were filled with kids, and candy bowls quickly emptied at each house.
Although Halloween was over, our spirit week wasn’t and Zoom Day was in full swing. Students were walking around with cardboard boxes around their heads, pajama pants on bottom, and suits on top. Ending this great day was the showing of Insidious in the high school amphitheater, serving free popcorn and tons of candy. Students report that it was a super great event, and the Student Council is looking forward to hosting another movie night soon!
As Thursday came around, students were dressed in their best BBQ dad and Soccer mom attire. Aprons were seen all over the school, and an incredible abundance of Lululemon did not go unnoticed. We certainly can’t forget about all of the high ponytails, ugg boots, and occasional spatulas either.
To conclude the week, the final Halloween spirit day was frat day, the most widely participated in spirit day. Students loved putting on their most destroyed ties, athletic shorts, and old t-shirts to celebrate with their peers marking the end of a good Halloween this 2023 year. After school, a thrilling dodgeball game took place with a senior victory. Winning team members included: Matthew Maloy, Griffin Williams, Jay Sykes, Micheal Wymer, Cedric Donovan, Patrick Schaede, Ty Montzingo, Garret Hebert, and Prosper Gross. Successfully coached by Bracken Birch and Cannon Collinson.
As the week closed out and events came to an end, the Student Council and their peers considered this an incredibly successful Halloween week!
