This is a popular franchise that most people either grew up with or have at least heard of. Some probably hated it because of the jumpscares. I’m talking about none other than Five Nights at Freddy’s, the game that stole some hearts (literally).
The game began on August 8th, 2014, skyrocketing with popularity after fairly well-known YouTubers such as Markiplier and MatPat began playing and analyzing this game. The game is very simple, for those of you who don’t know it.
You play as a security guard at a Chucky Cheese ripoff-type place. Just watch the cameras and make sure the animatronics stay on their stage. As they move around more, you have to close the doors on your left or right depending on the animatronics. Two of them are pure doors, while the other two involve more cameras.
Bonny is the first to become active. It’s still up for debate if he’s purple or blue. Just shut the left door on him when he shows up and he eventually goes away. Same thing with another animatronic named Chica, except on the right door. Foxy shows up normally around night three, and you just have to watch his camera, which is in Pirates Cove. The more you watch him the less he moves, but when he gets to the point where he runs down the east hall, you just close the left door until you hear his two knocks on the door. After that, you are safe from him until next time.
Finally, our main attraction, Freddy. He only moves when the cameras are off. In short, if you just constantly watch him he won’t go to the right door. If he does, the door does nothing against him pretty much.
A big feature in the game is your power, which runs low the more you use the cameras, the lights, and the doors. If you run out of power, it’s game over unless it’s five a.m.
But horror games are never that easy now are they? They start moving more frequently to get to your office because they see you as an endoskeleton without their costume. They want to stuff you in a Fazbear suit. A lovely night right? In the game over screen, you can see yourself in a Fazbear suit.
You have to survive five nights, and then a sixth and seventh if you want extra money on your paycheck. Of course, every night gets progressively harder. Because the movie revolves around the first game, that is the only one I will discuss.
