Since the spooky season is arising, more horror films are beginning to show in theaters. Most notable, is the movie Saw X.
Saw is a horror movie franchise that started back in 2004. It blew people’s minds away with unique put-on horror films – the concept of not being killed, but in a sense, killing themselves. The killer in this film is Jigsaw, who puts people who as he describes, don’t value their life enough, in horrid traps. Jigsaw is an older man who has cancer and isn’t able to enjoy his life. So he is determined to help younger people enjoy and value their own lives. All traps made by him are escapable, although you might lose a limb or so. Some traps are also made in a ‘survival of the fittest’ way.
This movie has been in the making for quite a while. In April of 2021, Twisted Pictures released its tenth Saw film that would be added to the franchise. The script was completed by December of that same year. But promotions didn’t begin until around April of 2023.
The promotion they have been sharing has been said “Disturbing doesn’t even describe it.” The movie was released on September 29th, the same day as our homecoming game.
The movie was rated 86% on Rotten Tomatoes which is higher than any Saw movie so far. The first movie was rated 84%, so I did have high expectations.
I will say, the movie was a great comeback to the Saw franchise. The storyline was improved, which surprised me, but in a good way. I won’t say any spoilers for anyone looking forward to it. But the movie was amazing, and gory as usual.
