Murder — a concept that for some feels so far-fetched that in movies and shows, they find it thrilling to watch and maybe even laugh at what’s on screen. But for some, the thought is so close and so haunting that it sends goosebumps up their arms. The past just a flashback away.
The Royal Family of England seems to hide it well. Their manners, positivity, and constant public appearances make their pain seem so irreverent that it must not have even been real. But Princess Diana’s death way back in 1997 still haunts almost everyone. However, certain people may be slightly relieved by her death, some might say even happy. Their secrets are so well covered that one may never know. Was the car crash an accident or a driver sent on a mission?
Henri Paul, the 41-year-old French chauffeur, was Princess Diana’s driver during the car crash. News reporters stated that the car was going about 68 miles per hour (almost double the speed limit) when Paul lost control and collided with a stone pillar. The only survivor of the crash was Trevor Rees-Jones, Dodi Fayed’s bodyguard. Fayed was also in the car during the crash and did not survive. Rees-Jones was in a coma for 10 days after the crash until he awakened to tell news reporters all that he remembered. In an article published by the Daily Mail, they wrote Rees-Jones’s thoughts in an interview: “He also remembered that the Princess had called out Dodi Fayed’s name, that a white Fiat Uno had been in pursuit and that the Fayed-employed driver of the fatal car, Henri Paul, had not been visibly drunk.” This quote shows three important facts. First, Henri Paul, the driver at the time, was intoxicated. Second, a mysterious car hit or at least got close to hitting their car (other sources say this car was never found after the incident). Third, Dodi Fayed had hired Paul.
Before people begin jumping to conclusions, there is more to the story. In an article by CBC, they stated “Former friends of Diana have said it was just a fling, a rebound from her very public divorce. But in the documentary, Fayed’s former butler reveals that the filmmaker was planning to propose in Paris on the night of their deaths.” This quote reveals some blood-chilling facts about Fayed’s and Diana’s relationship. So let’s assess, shall we? With this information, one could conclude that someone could have been so furious about their relationship that they needed to end it – end before it even began. So sometime before the night of Fayed’s proposal, when someone caught wind of it, they made a plan and took the problem into their own hands.
So what did truly happen that night? Well, the scandalous relationship between Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed could have spelled out their downfall. When one looks back at the evidence it all points to one conclusion. Someone did not want to the two get married, as Dodi Fayed was not a royal or not the right fit for Diana. So, someone, an unknown individual, took it upon themselves to make it happen. This unknown individual could have been the driver of the white Fiat Uno, it could have been Herni Pual, or it could have been someone who was never seen or caught. It simply cannot be a coincidence that on the night of Fayed’s proposal, the two die in an unsuspected car cash together. However, this conclusion could be wrong as there is no clear evidence or perfect answer. We do not know what happened on that cursed day, and we may never know.
