Homecoming Spirit Week & Events Announced
Homecoming week is next week, September 6th-9th, and Student Council has just announced the plans for spirit week and the coinciding events leading up to the big game and the big dance.
Monday, September 5th – NO SCHOOL (Labor Day)
That’s it. Don’t come to school.
Tuesday, September 6th – Mathletes v. Athletes, PowderPuff Football
Come to school channeling Albert Einstein… or Michael Jordan. Your call. At 7pm, make sure to be at Dozier Field to watch the senior girls take on junior girls in some thrilling flag football. Don’t worry, it’ll be more competitive than the Park City-Wasatch football game.
Wednesday, September 7th – Wasatch Western Day, PowderBuff Volleyball
Flannels, cowboy hats, blue jeans — it’s all in play. And make sure you don’t miss the friendly (but not-so-friendly) competition between the senior and junior boys at 7pm in the Front Gym, at PCHS.
Thursday, September 8th – Anything But a Backpack, Bonfire Night
The fan-favorite makes its return. Sub out your backpack for literally anything else for Thursday’s classes, and make sure to get creative. After school, the Homecoming Bonfire will take place at 7pm in the Junior Lot. Food trucks from The Border and Shaka Shake will be there, so don’t forget your cash!
Make sure you DO NOT PARK IN THE JUNIOR LOT AFTER SCHOOL.
Friday, September 9th – Class Colors, Pep Rally, Football Game + Tailgate
Each student should be receiving a homecoming shirt from their teachers in the near future, so make sure to wear them Friday. There will be a mid-day assembly in the back gym to get everyone hyped up for the game and for the year in general. At 5pm, students are invited to a Tailgate in the front horseshoe area before the Miners get ready to take down the Murray Spartans (7pm, Dozier Field). The theme for the game is class colors — sophomores wear white, juniors wear red, and seniors rock camo.
Saturday, September 10th – Homecoming Dance
From 7pm to 9pm, the PCHS Homecoming Dance will go down at Canyons Village. This year’s theme: Alice in Wonderland. Student Council encourages “bright colors, fun patterns, huge decorations, and more.” Tickets can be purchased during A or B lunches this week ($30 for a single ticket, $50 for doubles tickets), as well as online at this link here.
