PCHS Prom 2021

This school year has looked very different due to COVID. Sporting events have had limited capacity, events like Mr. Miner and the talent show have become virtual, and organized group activities have been canceled.

Dances like homecoming and winters have been canceled, and students haven’t had the same social opportunities available in the past.

With so many activities getting canceled due to COVID, students weren’t sure what Spring events would look like.

“I had hoped that we would have Prom, but wasn’t sure if it would happen,” said Senior Ben Peters.”

Student Council and Park City Administration have planned to hold an in-person Prom this spring. The prom will take place May 22nd and the theme will be Old Hollywood. Tickets will be sold in the lunchroom student store by student council members from now until the day of the dance.

The dance will be only for seniors unless a senior asks an underclassman. The student council is encouraging seniors to buy discount tickets this week and next week.

Discount tickets will be $35 for an individual and $50 for a couple. After the discount, the period

has concluded the tickets will rise to $45 for an individual and $80 for a couple.

Student Council is taking precautionary measures to ensure the safety of the students. Prom will be held outside at an undetermined location. Dancing and activities will take place outside, but food and drinks will be offered inside.

Masks will be required during the dance and all students will take a COVID test the day of the dance.

As of right now, Student Council is considering Red Pine Lodge, Deer Valley, and the White Barn for potential locations.

“It could be one of those, or it could be none of them,” said Senior Class President Meghan Bucholz, “We don’t want to get anybody’s hopes up though.”

The dance seems far away but it will be here before you know it.
