information regarding Captain Marvel. She was hinted to in the after credit scene of the Infinity War film. Hopefully, she is the hero we need to help the Avengers to undo what Thanos’ snap has wrought upon the galaxy.

To start, the average Marvel fan had little to no clue about the logo which was shown in the after credit scene. The research was done, and fans came to the realization of what this means for the new universe. Carol Danvers, also known as Captain Marvel, is the first female Marvel character who has been accredited with her own origin film. Played by Brie Larson, and accompanied by actors such as Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), and Ronan (Lee Pace) will star in the 1990’s origin story. Fury and Coulson are touched up with a little CGI anti-aging cream and a new eye for Fury, this shows us that this isn’t just a superhero origin story but as well as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent theme as well.

Captain Marvel is different from the rest of the Avengers because she hasn’t been hinted to or introduced since the film. She remained a mystery, shrouded within the comic books she inhabited. Her adventures with the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and the people of Earth have been drawn out for years within the colorful text. This is her first adaptation into any source of film or tv.

The trailer was the first good look the fans were given to have an idea of the film. It starts with Captain Marvel falling through the ceiling of a Blockbuster Video, showing the fans of the time setting. It follows with snapshots and dialogue, and a very limited showing of the film. Here’s what we know and can assume from the trailer:

  • Captain Marvel Lost Her Memory: although we know who she is, it seems as though her brain can’t remember her alien life from her Earth life.
  • Ronan Has Returned: Ronan the Cree fanatic, who attacked Xander and was killed by the Guardians of the Galaxy, is cast in the past with this film.
  • Coulson Has Returned: Phil Coulson, the agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. who was killed by Loki in the first Avengers film and later went on to have his own tv show, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has returned to his early shield days.
  • The Skrulls Are Introduced: The shape-shifting, aliens known as the Skrull, are rumored to be in the film, due to the fact that Captain Marvel is seen punching an elderly woman in the face.
  • Captain Marvel Receives Her Powers: Hinted to in the trailer, is a quick cut where Captain Marvel is involved in an explosion. As stated in the comic books, the reason for CP’s power of super strength, flight, etc., is a Kree experiment.
  • The Kree “Starforce” Is Possible: The elite Kree military sect called the “Starforce” could be introduced. This would be a garrison of Captain Marvel and her elite team, which is still fully yet to be introduced.

We might not have the full story until the film is released, but that’s the point of the film anyway. Hopefully, Captain Marvel is the hero we need to finalize the Avengers and enact the passing of the torch between the originals and the addons.
